Description:
We build strong kids, strong families, strong communities. We put Christian principals into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. To be affordable to all, a sliding fee scale is available.
At the YMCA, kids grow in their self-esteem, learn how to get along with others, and develop an appreciation of the world around us. They learn important character building values such as caring, respect, trustworthiness, fairness, responsibility and citizenship. But most of all, kids learn the importance of how character helps them to do the right thing and develop to their fullest potential.
At the YMCA good character and values are an important part of everything we do. By teaching, enforcing, advocating, and modeling the six pillars of character, we build strong kids, strong families, and a stronger community for all. The Six Pillars of "Character Counts" are... Caring, Citizenship, Fairness, Respect, Responsibility & Trustworthiness.
We are volunteer-led with more than 450 people volunteering on some aspect. We provide membership and program services to anyone who desires to participate. We serve more than 18,000. We work collaboratively with more than 65 agencies in our community.
