3/21 - Young Ireland -inspired by Irish folk tradition- Santa Paula Theater March 23 |
Young Ireland is a father-son duo Patrick and Michael O’Hara, based in San Luis Obispo. Newcomers to the Irish folk music scene, they are first and second generation Irish who write and perform original songs and classic Irish favorites reflecting the spirit of the Irish struggles and traditions in both Ireland and America from the 1600's to the modern day. Their acoustic music is driven by “skillfully crafted ballads and delicate harmonies in a richly Irish tradition.” At age fourteen, Michael sings with the “heart of an old soul”. 6/25 - Elephant’s Graveyard opens June 29 at Santa Paula Theater Center |
It was 1916. There was a Town. There was a Circus. And there was a Murder. When The Sparks World Famous Shows Circus pulls into the quiet town of Erwin, Tennessee, the residents of the sleepy little hamlet can hardly contain their excitement. But when a member of the circus commits a horrific crime, the townsfolk demand justice. Building on both historical fact and legend, Elephant’s Graveyard questions how good people can, if only for a moment, turn into monsters, unleashing a deep-seated craving for spectacle and revenge.
Elephant's Graveyard is directed by Fred Helsel and David Ralphe, with Leslie Nichols producing. Scenic design is by Mike Carnahan with lighting design by Gary Richardson and costume design by Justine Abbitt. Karl Krause will stage manage the production.
