"Santa Paula is steeped in history. Wafting from its vintage brew are the heady fragrances of oil and citrus. Birthplace of the Union Oil Company of California and Citrus Capital of the World are just two of Santa Paula’s claims to fame. It has also been a center of the silent movie business when Gaston Melies held sway here with his Star Film Stock Company and home of the largest lemon ranch in the world." Excerpt from www.santapaulahistoricalsociety.org/Links-SantaPaula.htm
Today Santa Paula has the greatest collection of vintage homes, commercial buildings, churches and schools in Southern California, and is the home of the Santa Paula Airport, Aviation Museum of Santa Paula, the California Oil Museum, and the Limoneira Company. Equally historic is the Santa Paula Cemetery which dates to the early 1870s and continues to serve the city. In addition, farms of the pioneers continue to produce under the skilled supervision of their farming descendants.

10/18/13 - See a Play-Seatbelts Required Starts Tonight!
> VIEW
> HIDE
Local playwright Kimberly Demmary’s new play Seatbelts Required, is a rollercoaster of grief, amusement and heart. After their mother’s funeral, three sisters gather at the house they grew up in and try to come to terms with the destruction their mother brought to their lives. As the afternoon progresses, they hesitantly try to connect through remembered laughter and sorrow as harrowing memories of their childhoods are brought to the surface. As sometimes traumatic memories are brought to the surface, they struggle to realize that, though they have been wounded, they are connected by a deeply shared bond and they can only look to each other for healing.
“With shades of Albee’s Zoo Story, the first scene begins with light hearted banter, and gradually crescendos to an intense, almost volatile, powerful second act.” ~Talucan Times

8/13/13 - Upcoming - The Perfect Gentlemen-The Perfect Blend of Harmony & Humor! -- 8/17
> VIEW
> HIDE
The Perfect Gentlemen provides the perfect blend of harmony and humor in a family friendly vocal variety show that harkens back to the days of Vaudeville. Preserving America's great vocal sounds from a time when music was music, The Perfect Gentlemen recreate the close harmonies of such legendary groups as The Ink Spots and the Pied Pipers, while including the era's great comic songs made famous by the likes of Louis Jordan and The Hoosier Hotshots. In addition, the group also plays a rare instrument from the days of the traveling Chautauqua circuits: the Deagan organ chimes, "universally conceded as being the greatest novelty instrument ever invented" by the company that made them, J.C. Deagan Musical Bells, Inc. Once you've seen and heard The Perfect Gentlemen, you won't settle for anything less!
