(Ray) Cory Orosco, founding member of Ernie and the Emperors and the Brian Faith Band has been diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma cancer and he needs our support.
The event will be held September 13, 2014, 6:00 - 11:00 pm, Santa Barbara Elks, 150 N.Kellogg, Santa Barbara.
Dinner, Dancing and Special Appearances from the bands: FOG, Soul City Survivors, Night Train and Ernie and the Emperors.

Local Rock Bands Soul City Survivors, FOG, Night Train, and Ernie and the Emperors will perform at the Benefit for Cory fundraiser to be held at the SB Elks Lodge 613, 150 North Kellogg, Santa Barbara, CA. Cory was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma and needs our help - join us to raise money for Cory's medical expenses.

8/12/14 - Local Bands Battle For One of Their Own - Benenfit for Raymond "Cory" Orosco Sept. 13, at the Elks

Raymond “Cory” Orosco, a pioneer of the Santa Barbara rock music scene, along with brothers Ernie and Brian, are founding members of Santa Barbara’s Ernie and the Emperors Band. Recently, Cory was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.

The music community and Santa Barbarans past and present are rallying to his support. To help raise funds for Cory’s medical expenses, the Benefit for Cory will be held on September 13, 2014, from 6:00-11:00 pm, at the SB Elks Lodge #613, located at 150 North Kellogg Avenue, Santa Barbara.

The fundraiser will include a sit down dinner, dancing, a silent and live auction, and great memories. Guests will be transported back in time as local Rock bands perform music from the early 60’s and 70’s.

As a symbol of unity, local bands Soul City Survivors, FOG, Night Train and Ernie and the Emperors will make special appearances to help Cory’s battle against cancer, along with special guest celebrities.

In 1965, ,Ernie and the Emperors, landed a record contract with Warner Brothers/Reprise Records with their regional hit record, Meet Me at the Corner. After winning “Battle of the Bands” in both Santa Barbara and Ventura they toured extensively with Wolfman Jack’s concert shows. Their popularity made them one of the most influential and respected bands in California.

The Orosco brothers are core members of bands who evolved through the years as Ernie and the Emperors, Giant Crab, Big Brother Ernie Joseph, and more recently Brian Faith Band.   Email   Website

Join the Santa Barbara Elks on July 26 for their annual "Groovin In The Grove" Classic Car and Vintage Travel Trailer Show. The FREE event is held at 150 North Kellogg Ave, Santa Barbara, CA between 10:00am and 2:00 pm. Over 130 Classic Cars and Vintage Travel trailers will compete for Best of Show and other categories. Also, local artisans will be displaying their art, handcrafted jewelry, and other merchandise at this year's event.
