I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival
Santa Barbara Mission, 2201 Laguna, Santa Barbara CA
Watch us transform the Old Mission into the color-splashed site of the annual I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival. Street painting, using chalk as the medium, has been an Italian tradition since the 16th Century. This art form is enjoying a renaissance in cities throughout Western Europe and the U.S.A. The International Street Painting Festival is held each year in the village of Grazie di Curtatone, Italy. We are proud to be the first to bring this romantic art form to the western hemisphere through sister festivals in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, California. Celebrate the arts and help the Children's Creative Project paint the streets--Italian style!

California's Wild Edge: The Coast in Poetry, Prints and History
Wildling Museum, 1511-B Mission Drive, Solvang CA

The exhibition captures the beauty of the California coast from Mendocino, Point Reyes, and the San Francisco Bay down through Carmel, Big Sur, Santa Barbara, and Santa Monica. Woodcut artist Tom Killion’s prints combine exquisite color with dynamic composition to portray the coast’s ever-changing moods and diverse formations: storm tides crashing at Point Lobos, serene moonlit coves at Mendocino, fog encircling the Golden Gate Bridge. Deepening the experience are poetry and prose from Gary Snyder and other well-known California poets of the past and present. The exhibition is originated by the San Francisco Public Library and is based on a new Heyday book by the same title.   ($5.00

    The Lumineers
  The Lumineers
Santa Barbara Bowl, 1122 N. Milpas Street, Santa Barbara CA
It took four years for the Lumineers to follow up their platinum-plus, multi-Grammy-nominated, self-titled debut—which spent 46 weeks on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #2— but Cleopatra is well worth the wait. After exploding onto the scene with their monster single “Ho Hey” (which spent a staggering 62 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #3) and its follow-up, “Stubborn Love”, The Lumineers spent a solid three years touring six of the seven continents. During that time, The Lumineers earned a pair of Grammy nominations, contributed two songs to The Hunger Games franchise and sold an impressive 1.7 million albums in the U.S., and 3 million worldwide.
