Chefs' Picnic In The Park

Picnic in the Park is a full day of food, drink and entertainment to benefit the Meals on Wheels programs of Solvang and Buellton Senior Centers. Food will be prepared by local superstar chefs Leonardo Curti, Budi Kazali, Frank Ostini and Ryan Silas-Groves. They will be cooking all day long! Wine tasting will be provided by the SYV Wine Country Association members Alexander & Wayne, Lucas & Lewellen, Toretti Family Vineyards, Standing Sun Wines, Imagine Wine, Toccata, Arthur Earl, Daniel Gehrs Wines, Buttonwood Farm Winery, Rideau Vineyard, Cimarone & 3CV Wines, Casa Cassara and Lincourt Vineyards. Picnic in the Park will also include a variety of entertainment, a silent auction, bands The Remnants and The Soulmates, and beer tasting. The cost of admission is $50 in advance and $60 at the door. GLASS ARTIST PAUL HARRIE HAS THE ABILITY TO TRANFORM AN ANCIENT ITALIAN GLASS TECHNIQUE AND FUSE IT WITH A LOT OF CALIFORNIA STYLE
Meet The Artist:
Sunday, June 9th from 11 am to 5 pm at ZFolio Gallery – 1685 Copenhagen Drive, Solvang, CA.
Just like a geode reveals its inner beauty when opened – so does the glass work of Paul Harrie. Paul loves creating objects of art that give the impression of opening up to find mysterious beautiful interiors. His Saturn series is a perfect example; blown glass spheres with layers upon layers of brilliant colors and intriguing textures to pull the viewer in. Living in California and drawing inspiration from the Sierras, Paul created his River Series of glass in liquid looking organic shapes to emulate the colors and softness of water gently flowing over the rocks in a mountain stream. And for something abstract, random and fun, his Tectonic Series includes a mixture of all of his collections that are cut up, cast in into cement forms and then cut and polished into different shapes.
ZFolio’s successful story started right here in Solvang, California and began with glass from the Czech Republic. With an extreme dedication to searching for contemporary artists worldwide combined with phenomenal customer service, and fair business practices, in 2012 ZFolio was voted Top 5 Designer retailer by both American and International jewelry artists and designers. And ZFolio proves this by representing over 100 American and international artists that specialize in contemporary designer jewelry, art glass, photography, wood sculpture and wearable art.
Some of the designers featured include Alex Sepkus, Atelier Munsteiner, Etienne Perret, Sarah Graham, John Kennedy, Barbara Heinrich, Elizabeth Garvin, Magick Fusager Design, and many others. Contemporary Czech and American glass artists represented include Bohumil Elias, Jaromir Rybak, Pavel Havelka, Moser, Paul Harrie, Danielle Gartner and Stephen Blade. Large scale giclee photography of flowers and coast of California by co-owner Michael Mendizza graces the gallery walls. “Being an artist is a way of life.
