5/4 - Save the Date! Free Concert - Santa Barbara Music Club -- May 16 ... One of the highlights of Santa Barbara Music Club's concerts is the opportunity for audiences to hear great music from a variety of historical periods, with a diversity of musical forms, performed by excellent artists. This concert will feature a romantic era work for clarinet and piano, a song cycle for soprano and piano by a renowned contemporary American composer, and an eclectic collection of dramatic works for flute and piano.

5/4 - Save the Date! S.B Jazz Society Scholarship Competition -- May 17 at SOhO ... The Santa Barbara Jazz Society is holding its first Jazz Scholarship Competition on May 17. The event which starts at 1 PM will feature students from the three public high schools who have been selected by their instructors to compete for the scholarship prize money. An award of $500 will be given to the winner in each category, vocal and instrumental. Other participants will be awarded $100. They will be accompanied by a professional jazz trio at our monthly event at SOhO and juried by jazz professionals. Please come and support these young students … they are the future of jazz! A donation of $10 is suggested.

4/29 - Glorious summer-like day full of wild animals ... Captain Dave commanded the Condor Express for a single excursion leaving Santa Barbara Harbor at high noon for a showdown with the wildlife. It was warm and sunny, but things started off pretty windy. Two good things about the wind: it died a lot during the trip and there was not much swell under it. It was a magical day with at least 1,500+ #dolphins, 6 #whales, 50 #sea lions, and clear blue water.
Immediately after leaving our customary visit with the California sea lions on the harbor entrance buoy we spotted 2 gray whales, a mother and calf. Westmont will explore that question in the coming year through the Moral and Ethical Leadership in the American Presidency series, sponsored by the Mosher Center for Moral and Ethical Leadership.

July will bring summer and song as ETC presents Tell Me on a Sunday, the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical about love and love-lost.
