... The Boogie Knights and The Spazmatics are returning to the Chumash Casino Resort for its annual New Year’s Eve Dance Party. Both groups are ready to fill your night with flashbacks from the 1970s and ’80s as you dance the night, or should we say year, away.
The party kicks off at 9 p.m. on December 31 in the Samala Showroom and is free for all Club Indulge members.

... “Una Noche de Las Posadas” is a traditional reenactment of Joseph and Mary’s search for lodging in Bethlehem. The procession begins at the chapel at El Presidio de Santa Bárbara State Historic Park and winds over to State Street, through the De la Guerra Plaza, and continues to Casa de la Guerra with the singing of traditional Spanish holiday songs. A fine day for knobby-heads
... It was a fairly nice fall day in the Santa Barbara Channel and a fine day for knobby-heads (humpback whales). The following wildlife was sighted and closely watched: 6 humpback whales, 6 Dall’s porpoise, and 800 long-beaked common dolphins. Seas and winds were calm until the end of the trip when we turned homeward and both conditions were put astern for a nice push in the right direction.
