After an impressive 2014, from their fourth studio album White Women debuting at #1 on iTunes to successfully engraving their track "Jealous (I Ain't With It)" as the summer's must-play dance record to crushing the main stage at every major festival stateside and beyond, the Funk Lordz Chromeo are taking their 2nd annual Funk On The Rocks concert on tour. The series debuted at Red Rocks in Denver last year and will make a stop in Santa Barbara for an unforgettable night of Funk At The Bowl.

5/28 - Gustafson Dance presents ... Madeline: Lost in Central Park ... Saturday at the Lobero Theatre ... Madeline and her friends at school take a trip to New York to visit Pepito. Upon arrival, Madeline wanders off, distracted by the sights of the city. The rest of the show is about the adventures of Madeline in New York as she comes across Popcorn, Flower and Jewelry Sellers, Butterflies, Picnic Bees and Alley Cats as well as Park Entertainers and NYC Ballet dancers. The School Mistress, Ms. Clavel, Pepito and Madeline’s friends are also on an adventure trying to find the curious Madeline. All our reunited at the end and celebrate with a lively finale dance.

5/28 - Save the Date! S.B Jazz Society presents Les McCann and his band -- June 14 at SOhO ... The Santa Barbara Jazz Society is proud to present legendary jazz star Les McCann and his band at SOhO on June 14 at 1pm. A keyboardist and singer, McCann gained prominence in the '60s with his jazz and soul fusion. He is back with a star studded group featuring vocalist Lee Hartley and Santa Barbara’s own super star trumpeter Jeff Elliott, who toured with the McCann band in the 1980s. Rounding out the band are John Chiodini on guitar, drummer Enzio Todesco, Abraham Loboriel Sr. on bass and coming from New York, pianist Joe Alterman.
This extraordinary event is brought to Santa Barbara through the generosity of the Jazz Society’s Ambassador at Large, Peter Clark.

The wonderfully inspiring programs will feature masterworks by beloved composers of the past, together with fresh new masterworks of current composers. We are excited to announce two fabulous botanical illustration workshops by Dr. Linda Ann Vorobik, the principal artist for the Jepson Manual and the floras of the Channel Islands. The 2014/15 season of “Music at Trinity” community concerts concludes with an exciting program featuring four varied pieces for trumpet and organ, including the unusual jazz-inspired Sonata by French/Lebanese composer Naji Hakim, in addition to two impressive organ toccatas.
