Noted for his wide and advanced vocal range, David is a Filipino-American jazz vocalist who has studied the vocal art of all the great jazz artists and has come up with his own progressive singing style and techniques. Backing up David are veteran musicians, pianist Ian Bernard, bassist Richard Simon, and drummer Paul Kreibech.

It's time for the annual Santa Barbara Blues Society Member Appreciation Show ..... featuring Little Jonny (Jon Lawton, leader of Tip of the Top and Little Jonny & The Giants) on guitar and & Rockin' Red (Fred Palmer, famed East Coast harmonica ace, formerly played with Mississippi Delta Blues legend Son House.) This show is the SBBS's way of saying thanks to its loyal members and blues lovers. Little Jonny is coming from the Bay Area, and Rockin' Red is flying in from New York.
It will feature free BBQ snacks and is FREE to each SBBS member. Guests of members get in for a minimal $10 admission price.

2/25 - Just announced! S.B. Blues Society's 39th Birthday Bash with Bob Margolin & Trio -- 3/12 ... The Santa Barbara Blues Society, the oldest existing U.S. blues society, founded in March 1977, is proud to present Bob Margolin & his Trio along with Special Guest Bob Corritore. Margolin was lead guitarist in the Muddy Waters Band for seven years. He has been nominated for multiple blues music awards, and has won MMAs twice for "Best Guitarist of the Year." Special guest Bob Corritore is a highly-regarded harmonica player and is also a multiple BMA award nominee. The opening act is the Alistair Greene Band ... playing from 7:15 to 7;45 PM.
Doors will open at 7:00 PM; music starts at 7:15 PM. There is a large spring-loaded dance floor, and there will be free BBQ snacks....
2/23 - Just Announced! S.B Jazz Society presents the Katie Thiroux Quartet -- March 13 at SOhO ... Exceptional bassist and vocalist Katie Thiroux and her quartet will perform on Sunday, March 13 from 1 to 3:30 at SOhO. Having studied both bass and voice since her pre-teenage years (including vocal studies with Tierney Sutton) Thiroux has won numerous awards, including a full scholarship to famed Berklee Collage of Music. She has appeared with such notables as Branford Marsalis, Dr. Billy Taylor, Eric Reed, Jeff Clayton, Larry Koonze, Jeff Hamilton and many others.
