No wonder it won a Tony last year as Best Revival of a Play on Broadway, after an equally successful run across the pond in London, proving that it stands the test of time since it was written in 1995 by British Playwright Sir David Hare. Now in Ojai, it's showing off its “absolutely splendid” insights, a conclusion by the New York Times during its ...

1/21 - "... laugh yourself into a hernia ..." -- "Black Comedy" opens Friday 1/22 ... “Is it still possible to laugh yourself into a hernia watching ‘Black Comedy’?” That’s what USA Today said of a Broadway production of this play, and a new version is coming to the Ojai Art Center Theater on January 22nd for four weekends. “Black Comedy” was written by acclaimed playwright Peter Shaffer, who later wrote “Amadeus” and “Equus,” two plays that are classics on any theater lover’s list, and this one is equally worthy.
