Finest acoustic performances celebrating traditional American Music with performers, Old Time Music Contest in fiddle, banjo, guitar, song, mandolin with cash prizes. Jam sessions, vendors, free workshops for adults and kids, dancing, bbq food/beverages for sale. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, instruments! Tickets at gate. Includes entrance to the museums at Rancho La Patera, including tours of Stow House. Family friendly! A great day of fun for all ages. Ages 17 and under are free. 9/10 - Save the Date! "Amtrak Sampler" Family Train Trip -- 10/11 ... Museum Offers Low-Cost Sampler Train Trip for Local Families, General Public. On Sunday, Oct 11, the South Coast Railroad Museum will be hosting a special Amtrak Sampler train trip. The short morning roundtrip rail adventure is designed especially for families with young children or anyone interested in getting an inexpensive taste of train travel aboard modern Amtrak equipment. Museum staff and volunteers will escort the group.
The Amtrak Sampler train will make stops at Santa Barbara, Carpinteria and Ventura. Passengers may board the train at either the Goleta or Santa Barbara Amtrak stations.

Santa Barbara Fermentation Festival will include samples of artisan fermented foods, three stages featuring local and regional experts, and interactive hands-on activities. This experiential festival celebrates the importance of traditionally fermented foods and beverages and empowers attendees to make these foods at home.

9/9 - "Naples: A Tale of Two Cities” -- 9/13. A history lecture by Neal Graffy ... Goleta Valley Historical Society will host a lively lecture by historian Neal Graffy about the early history of the beautiful, and often controversial, Gaviota Coast town. Enjoy stories of “Naples" - founded by John and Alice Williams in 1887, a 872-acre "Exquisite Summer and Winter Resort” with a look at rare photos and maps. Free admission. Reservations recommended.

9/1 - If you need to be at LAX at 6 am ... YOU GOT IT! ... Santa Barbara Airbus makes 16 trips daily between Los Angeles International Airport with Stops in Goleta, Carpinteria and Santa Barbara. The first bus departs Santa Barbara at 3:50 am to arrive at the Airport by 6:00 am! Our last pickup from LAX is at 10:00 pm. The Airbus operates the same schedule everyday and is open every day of the year except Christmas and Thanksgiving. Click here for our schedule!

This series is an excellent opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy performances by local musicians. 6/15 - Fiesta Ranchera -- This Thursday -- Don't Miss it! ... This popular event, co-hosted by Old Spanish Days in Santa Barbara, Inc. and the Goleta Valley Historical Society offers a festive evening of “pre-fiesta” fun, food, music, and dancing. The beautiful and historic gardens offer the perfect ambiance for sampling food from local restaurants and tasting wines from award winning local wineries.
Tony Ybarra and his Spanish guitarist trio will be performing, followed by the Spirit and Junior Spirits of Fiesta. Then step out onto the dance floor to the ever-favorite sounds of Area 51. Attendees are encouraged to dress in Fiesta or Ranch attire.

6/14 - Shelter Animals Need You! ... We would like to honor your business by featuring your business as a supporter of our cause and our summer event Matinee for Mutts, a special screening of Max-The Movie. We are currently seeking event sponsors to assist us in putting on this event to benefit homeless, injured or sick shelter animals in our 3 Santa Barbara County shelters. We are an all volunteer 501(c)3. Our vision is to prevent homeless, but adoptable animals within our County shelters from being euthanized simply because there is no one else to pay the medical bills.
